Lorenzo has extensive and in-depth expertise in Data Economy, Privacy and Personal Data Protection, Artificial Intelligence, and all legal matters related to emerging technologies. For over 15 years, he has been providing regular assistance—also serving as an external Data Protection Officer—to Italian companies and major international industrial groups on a wide range of topics, including Data Governance, data valorization and security, privacy, technological applications in healthcare and medical research, Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

He has been involved in drafting or accrediting Monitoring Bodies for three out of the four codes of conduct approved to date in Italy by the Italian Data Protection Authority.

Lorenzo holds (and has previously held) the legal lead and coordinator role for several major EU-funded technology projects, such as DataTools4Heart, EDITH-CSA, and MyHealthMyData.

In 2021, Global Data Review included him in its global “40 under 40” ranking, and since that year, Legal 500 has listed him four consecutive times as a “New Generation Partner” in the field of privacy and data protection in Italy.

He has also gained significant experience in telecommunications, corporate, and commercial law, assisting companies, institutions, and organizations across various market sectors—including banking, healthcare, insurance, digital, manufacturing, and large-scale distribution—with corporate matters, ordinary and extraordinary transactions, the development of innovative business strategies, repositioning plans, and corporate restructuring.

Lorenzo is the author of numerous publications on data protection, digital law, and telecommunications, featured in both national and international specialized journals and websites. He is frequently invited as a speaker at conferences and training courses on privacy and data protection, privacy-enhancing technologies, and artificial intelligence.
