This presentation will discuss the challenges that the United States and the European Union face when attempting to regulate Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI has the potential to revolutionize many industries and to bring great benefit to society, yet it is also a technology that can be easily abused and misused. With the increase in AI applications, the need for effective regulation is becoming increasingly important; however, the US and the EU have different approaches to regulating AI so far. This presentation will explore the different approaches being taken by these two regions and will provide an overview of the challenges that exist in trying to regulate AI. Audience expectations will include a better understanding of the different regulations being implemented and the potential implications for the use of AI within the US and EU. Additionally, the challenges associated with regulating AI will be explored, including the need for international cooperation and the challenges associated with the speed of technological advancement.
