Rocco Panetta, managing partner of Panetta and country leader for Italy of IAPP – International Association of Privacy Professionals, has been appointed as Chairman of the Monitoring Body of the Code of Conduct for the APL (Employment Agencies) sector, which has just been approved by the Italian Data Protection Authority.
This important accountability tool has been promoted by Assolavoro, the National Association of Employment Agencies, to contribute to the correct application of the legislation on the use of personal data according to the specificities of the sector.
The choice of Rocco Panetta as head of the body appointed to monitor the correct application of the Code of Conduct by its members confirms the leading role that his firm, which he founded 16 years ago, plays at national and international level in this field. The firm’s professionals have in the past, together with Ancic, overseen the adoption of the Code of Conduct in the commercial information sector – the first Code ever written and approved in Europe – and assisted Aisrec, ASSILEA and CTC in the accreditation process of the Monitoring Body of the Code of Conduct for SICs (credit information systems).
Furthermore, Rocco Panetta and Lorenzo Cristofaro, partners of the firm, were part of the table that drafted and obtained approval of the Code for telemarketing and teleselling activities.
